PROMIS Short Form v1.0 - Sleep Disturbance 8a
PROMIS Sleep Disturbance 8a is an 8-item sleep-symptom self-report covering the past 7 days. It is not a sleep-disorder diagnosis.
Overview
What is the PROMIS Sleep?
PROMIS Sleep Disturbance measures perceived sleep quality, sleep depth and restoration associated with sleep. Short forms and CAT administrations are different products. A T-score is not a menopause diagnosis and not a sleep-study result.

Methodology
Understand the measure and its scoring conventions
The eight items are summed to a raw score of 8 to 40; three items are printed with descending values so that a higher score always means more disturbance. The PROMIS 8a conversion table turns the raw score into a T-score. The published severity ranges are none to slight (below 55), mild (55.0 to 59.9), moderate (60.0 to 69.9) and severe (70 and over), which on the 8a table are raw scores 8 to 22, 23 to 27, 28 to 36 and 37 to 40.
